CHARBONNEL ET WALKER - CORPORATE GIFTING PROTOTYPE
Recognition Design & Marketing Limited
recognitioncreative.com

WHAT THIS IS
------------------------------------------------------------
A clickable prototype of the proposed corporate gifting
section, set out in the accompanying page structure and
content document. Five pages, one self-contained file.

It demonstrates the page structure and content, not the final
visual design, and it is not production code. Collections,
prices and pricing tables are taken from the September 2026
corporate brochure.

WHAT'S IN THE ZIP
------------------------------------------------------------
corporate-gifting/index.html The prototype. One self-contained file.
corporate-gifting/.htaccess Optional server settings (see below).
corporate-gifting/README.txt This file.

There are no images, stylesheets or scripts to upload separately
- everything is inside index.html.

UPLOADING VIA CPANEL
------------------------------------------------------------
1. Log in to cPanel and open File Manager.

2. Navigate to public_html (or the document root of whichever
domain or subdomain you want to use).

IMPORTANT: do not extract this zip directly into public_html
root without reading step 4 first.

3. Click Upload, choose this zip file, and wait for it to finish.
Then click "Go Back to..." to return to File Manager.

4. Right-click the zip and choose Extract.

The zip contains a folder called corporate-gifting, so
    extracting creates:

        public_html/corporate-gifting/index.html

It will not overwrite your existing site index.html. If you
would prefer a different folder name, rename the extracted
folder afterwards - nothing inside depends on it.

5. Delete the zip file from the server once extracted.

6. Visit the URL in a browser:

        https://yourdomain.com/corporate-gifting/

Because the file is named index.html, the trailing slash is
enough - you do not need to type the filename.

USING A SUBDOMAIN INSTEAD
------------------------------------------------------------
If you would rather it sat at something like
demo.yourdomain.com, create the subdomain first in cPanel
(Domains > Create A New Domain), note the document root it
gives you, and upload there instead. The steps are otherwise
identical.

PASSWORD PROTECTION (RECOMMENDED)
------------------------------------------------------------
This is unreleased client work sitting on a public server. The
page carries a noindex tag so search engines should ignore it,
but that does not stop anyone who has the URL.

To lock it down properly:

cPanel > Directory Privacy > select the corporate-gifting
folder > tick "Password protect this directory" > add a user.

That takes about a minute and is the simplest reliable option.

ABOUT THE .HTACCESS FILE
------------------------------------------------------------
The included .htaccess adds a noindex header and a few sensible
defaults. It is optional - the prototype works without it.

Note that .htaccess is a hidden file. If you cannot see it in
File Manager after extracting, click Settings (top right) and
tick "Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)".

If your server throws a 500 error after uploading it, simply
delete it. Some shared hosting configurations do not permit the
directives it uses.

NOTES
------------------------------------------------------------
- Fonts load from Google Fonts, so the page needs an internet
connection to look right. It stays perfectly usable without.

- The dark bar at the top is prototype scaffolding and would not
appear in a live build. It includes a "Show design notes"
toggle that reveals the reasoning behind each screen - useful
for internal review, best switched off when demonstrating.

- Nothing is saved and no data leaves the browser. The enquiry
form and brochure download are demonstrations only.

- The five pages switch in the browser without reloading. The
bar beneath the navigation shows the URL each page would
  have on the live site.

- Works in any current browser, desktop or mobile. It was
designed mobile-first, so it is worth viewing on a phone.
